Allard K2 Roadster, year 1952. Chassis (VIN) number K1986. Colour matte pale blue combined with a red leather interior. This rare Allard K2 Roadster was sold new in the USA where it has spent 37 years with the first owner. In the year 2010 the car was imported to Europe and extensively restored in Belgium. The body was given new paint, and the mechanical components were overhauled. From 2010 the car has known only one owner; this Allard K2 roadster is in an excellent condition and the car drives impressively. Allard cars were built from 1945 until 1958 in Clapham, south-west London. Carroll Shelby of AC Cobra fame and Chevrolet Corvette chief engineer Zora Arkus-Duntov both drove Allards in the early 1950s, which tells us that the Allard cars were and are something special. The cars were based on a modified Ford Pilot chassis with a Ballamy swing axle at the front. The cars were sold with American V8 engines derived from Ford, Mercury, Chrysler, and Cadillac. The cars were bodied in Aluminium by Allards friend Godfrey Imhof. This Allard K2 Roadster is fitted with a Cadillac V8 engine. The car steers and handles great and the engine pulls, runs and sounds, superbly! Only 119 examples of the K2 Roadster were built from 1950 until 1952, only 25 cars are still known to exist. This very special automobile comes with a history file from new! A bunch of documentation, which includes correspondence with the Allard club and the original instruction manual! A very special and rare car which is ready for the new owner to enjoy!
