Bentley Speed Six, year (chassis) 1927. Chassis number TB2526, Engine number TW2713. Colour dark British racing Green combined with a green leather interior and green wool carpet. This magnificent motorcar is one of the 545 6 ½ Litre and Speed Six models built between 1926 and 1930. Bentley 6 ½ Litre chassis TB2526 was built in September 1926, and then fitted with a Limousine Landaulette bodywork by Hooper coachworks, the automobile was completed, and registered in 1927. In WW2 the Bentley was used as an ambulance and later converted to a van! The car is listed in the Bentley book by Michael Hay listing the Bentley factory cars, numbers, and details as stated here. In the second half of the 20th century the car was extensively restored and rebuilt with a ‘Le Mans’ VandenPlas style open tourer bodywork and a Speed Six radiator with green Bentley badge. The enormous 6 ½ Litre Bentley straight-six engine features four valves per cylinder and three S.U. carburettors. The engine runs beautifully. The car comes with a complete and very interesting history file. Since the year 2000 the car is in the hands of the last owner/ collector who has taken meticulous care of this important piece of Bentley heritage. In his hands the car has participated in several historic rally/ touring events. This is a unique chance to acquire a rare and super exclusive pre-war Bentley ‘Speed Six’ in wonderful condition, and with a delightful vintage patina.
