Bentley 4¼ Litre special, year 1938. Chassis number B105LX, engine number D9BX. Chassis and engine are a factory original pair; matching numbers. Colour dark British Racing Green combined with a brown natural leather interior and black carpet. Black mohair soft-top and hood-cover. This is a Bentley built after the Rolls Royce take-over in 1931. From 1933 Bentley’s were manufactured in Derby, East Midlands, UK. The Bentley motorcars of this period are named ‘Derby’ Bentley’s. Because of the Rolls-Royce influence and the R.R. technical superiority these Derby Bentley’s turned out to be magnificent cars. This Bentley 4¼ Litre special was sold by Altena Classic Service in the past. In 2017 the automobile was fully repainted, and the leather interior upholstery was renewed. The car has participated in several historic (pre-war) rally events without any mishap. Over the years the car was updated and serviced by Altena Classic Service. This Bentley is fully up-to-date mechanically and technically. The car features a spacious interior, excellent seats, a large boot and an easy to erect soft-top. The car drives perfectly, and all the controls are easily to operate! This Bentley features the top-of-the-line 4¼ litre engine mated to a four-speed manual gearbox. The special aluminium ‘boat-tail’ bodywork was handcrafted by an English Bentley specialist.
