Black vinyl hood and hood cover. This Austin Healey is a fantastic driver’s car in good original condition. The car was imported from the USA in the past and never restored. The car must have been stored in a dark and dry place for decades, because the original vinyl upholstery is still in exceptionally good condition and the silver ‘piping’ on the seats has only slightly ‘yellowed’ due to sunlight. The floor mats have been renewed, and the bodywork has been repainted in the past. The paintwork shows some traces of age and use on the boot lid. Mechanically and technically, this fine ‘Big Healey’ was brought up to date in our workshop. The large and powerful six-cylinder engine is equipped with three twin-choke Weber carburettors and an aluminium rocker cover. Furthermore, the car sports a pair of auxiliary Lucas SLR/SFT 576 spot/fog lamps on the front bumper, a Stainless-Steel baggage rack, lap safety belts on all seats, overdrive, silver-painted wire wheels, and chrome ‘eared’ knock-on wheel nuts. The Austin Healey 3000 Mk III phase 2 is the final edition of the legendary ‘Big Healey’ model series. This model is the most comfortable model of the series incorporating all the improvements made over the years. Especially the easy to close and to open convertible top, roll-up windows (both available from the Mk II A model) the revised rear wheel suspension (phase 2 update), and 150 bhp engine fitted with larger carburettors, are desirable upgrades not available on most of the earlier models. The revised interior with wood dashboard panels, more modern gauges, and space to fit a radio, are also upgrades fancied by many Healey enthusiasts.
