Austin Healey 3000 Mk III phase 1, 1965. Chassis number HBJ8L30812, engine number 29K/RU/H5570. Colour Carmine red over crème white combined with a black leather interior trimmed with black carpet. Black vinyl hood and hood cover. This gorgeous ‘Big Healey’ was sold new in the USA. This is a relatively scarce phase 1 model featuring the single white direction indicator lenses at the front, still showing the small reflectors at the rear, and the lower height of the rear suspension. The 3000 Mk III features the easy to operate ‘convertible top’ which was introduced on the 3000 Mk IIA, and which offers a lot more comfort than the earlier ‘weather equipment’ solutions! In 1995 the automobile was imported to the Netherlands where it was restored perfectly and very detailed to original specifications. A photo report of the restoration is present. After the full restoration and rebuild, the car was given much care and attention; this Austin Healey is still in an excellent condition, only showing the slightest signs of previous use. The car drives perfectly, and the straight six engine produces an addictive soundtrack! The car is fitted with chrome wire wheels shod with Vredestein Classic Sprint 185-15 tyres, overdrive, a Stainless-Steel exhaust, a Stainless-Steel baggage rack and a classic Blaupunkt Frankfurt LMKU radio with FM and AM reception. This ‘Big Healey’ is a fantastic find for the Austin Healey enthusiast, an older restoration in excellent condition, ready for any new adventure!
