Engine:Six cilinder in line

Mercedes-Benz 200 Cabriolet (W21 C ‘Kurz’), year 1933. Chassis number U9936X, body number 25519X, engine number on application; ‘Matching numbers’. Colour ‘two-tone’ dark red combined with black. Beige leather interior and beige carpet. Black mohair hood and hood-cover. This beautiful and rare Mercedes W21 Cabriolet is a special ‘Sindelfingen’-bodied model build on a short (‘Kurz’) chassis. The car features a M21 type engine and a Maybach gearbox with overdrive / ‘Schnellgang’.

The car was sold new to Mr. Witt in Hamburg (Germany) in October 1933. A copy of the order-form is present. Ten years later, in 1943, the automobile was purchased by the Bink family. The car stayed with this family for three generations, over 50 years! In the year 1996 the Mercedes W21 C was sold. Via successive owners (all known) the automobile came into possession of the current owner who had the car perfectly ‘body-off’ restored and overhauled to original specifications from the year 2009 until 2016. Everything was restored, renewed and overhauled; this Mercedes-Benz is in pristine concours condition! Since completion of the restoration the car has driven about 400 kilometres. This Mercedes comes with sundry spare parts (including a spare gearbox), the original owners’ manual, the original parts book and technical data-sheets. This is a wonderful and rare pre-war Mercedes-Benz W21 Cabriolet ‘Kurz’ with a fully documented history. More extensive information is available via Altena Classic Service.
