Aston Martin DB 4, year 1960. Chassis (VIN) number DB4/27X/L, engine number 370/30X. Colour desert white (M037-3267) combined with a black Connolly leather interior (VM.8500) and black carpet. This rare and highly desirable Aston Martin DB 4 was sold new to Mr. Oscar Swahn from Stockholm. The car was prepared by the Aston Martin factory to compete in the legendary Tulip Rallye. The car participated in the 1960 and 1961 editions of the Tulip Rallye. The Halda Speed Pilot which was factory fitted, is still present with the car. This fantastic automobile comes with a complete history file from new which includes Tulip Rally documents and regulations, period photographs (including Tulip Rally shots and 1961 Tulip Rally Newspaper clipping), service invoices, restoration invoices, and many other documents giving a clear insight of the car’s history and the previous owners. Also present are the factory data sheet, the original Aston Martin DB 4 Instruction Book, the DB 4 Parts Book, and Swedish magazines in which the car featured in recent years. This important Aston Martin DB 4 with 1960s Tulip Rally competition history is one of the very few DB 4’s sold new to Sweden. Since the year 2012 the car is owned by a Swedish Aston Martin enthusiast who had the Aston Martin perfectly restored and rebuilt by Aston Martin Specialist ‘AstonHill’ in Stockholm in the period 2012 – 2018. Everything was restored, overhauled, and or renewed, costs not effort were spared to reach perfection in the smallest detail. An extensive photo report of the restoration is present. During the restoration, the Aston Martin was fitted with a neatly fitted air-conditioning system, and EZ electric power steering which can be adjusted to the preferred power assistance. Furthermore, the automobile features three twin-choke Weber carburettors, wonderful and costly Borrani alloy rim wire wheels, a pair of Lucas sport lamps at the front, a pair of period correct Heuer rally stopwatches, and a period correct 1960s Blaupunkt Frankfurt auto radio with FM and a Bluetooth Module. This magnificent Aston Martin presents itself in sporty guise without bumpers, the original chrome bumpers are included. This Aston Martin DB 4 is a rare and highly desirable collector car with period competition history and a complete documented history. The car was rebuilt by a renowned Aston Martin specialist, and finally, this Aston looks, feels, drives, handles and sounds SUPERBLY!
